In 2006, Ellis Shelby was named Elementary Band Director for the
Graves County Schools. Prior to this
assignment, she was the District Band Director for the Fulton
County School System.
In
2002, Mrs. Shelby received her Bachelor of Music Education from
Murray State University where she is currently perusing her
Masters of Music Education. She began her career teaching in
the marching arts in 1999 as a paraprofessional, and was
involved with the Kentucky State Finalist Murray High School.
In addition, Mrs. Shelby has also spent time with the Ekilpse
Drum and Bugle Corps, filling the role of Assistant Corps
Director.
Mrs. Shelby has served as the Elementary/Middle School Band
Chair for the First District Kentucky Music Educators
Association where she was responsible for running the
All-District Middle School Band auditions, rehearsals, and
concerts.
A
native of Murray, KY, Mrs. Shelby has played saxophone with
professional and university ensembles including the Murray State
University Wind Ensemble, Murray State Jazz Ensemble I,
and the Paducah Symphony Orchestra.
Mrs. Shelby lives in Murray with her husband Jason and daughter
Virginia. |
